Dorfleben is a community platform for towns and villages across Germany, bringing local administration, clubs, church, school, and daycare together in one place. Residents discover events, join groups, and stay connected with the people and organizations around them.
We built the community app end to end — web and mobile (React and React Native) on a Node.js backend — with AI-powered search and recommendations (Weaviate, SageMaker, Ollama), instant discovery through Algolia, and realtime updates over WebSockets.
The platform makes it effortless for an entire community to organize and communicate, and its success has become a model that other towns look to when they want to bring local life online.
